Time: Once a month activities
Confirmation Education for 7th and 8th grade youth. In Christian love you have presented these children for Holy Baptism. You should therefore, faithfully bring them to the services of God's house, and teach them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten commandments. As
they grow in years, you should place in their hands the Holy Scriptures and provide for their instruction in the Christian faith, that, living in the covenant of their Baptism and in communion with the Church, they may lead godly lives until the day of Jesus Christ. From LBW
Because we take this statement seriously, Bethany provides an opportunity to help parents teach and encourage their youth in Christian education so their faith can continue to grow. The following is what a typical Wednesday evening looks like:
After the youth attend the Wednesday night worship service, they meet in a large group time for an interactive and creative lesson. Then, the youth move into 10 small groups with their small group adult leader and apply the lesson to their lives. The catechism, bible and faith lessons are key teaching utensils in the youth's faith journey into confirmation. Saved By Grace is just another opportunity to learn what it means to be a child of God! Along with the class time, there are multiple opportunities for faith growth including Middle School Youth Gatherings, Retreats, Confirmation Camp, Urban Plunges, Spotlight (Sunday School), faith mentoring during Lent and Mission Trips.
Time: Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:00pm
A leadership opportunity for 7th and 8th grade youth. It is very important for the youth to be involved in the decision-making process in Focus 64:8 youth ministries. What good is a youth program if it is all planned by adults? About 10 youth come together once a month and help plan fellowship activities, check out the curriculum we use for Spotlight and Confirmation and create positive opportunities for the other youth to get involved at the church or out in the community.

A service opportunity for Bethany Lutheran Church for 5th-12th grade youth. Acolytes assist the minister in the service by lighting candles, taking the offering, etc. Acolytes are scheduled to serve for one service every other month. The youth's performance of special duties is intended to enhance the worship service. This experience will provide a meaningful way for youth to grow in appreciation of worship as well, and youth should consider this opportunity a privilege and a significant service to your church. The responsibilities are important, and you are asked to serve faithfully.
