Worship Times & Welcome

We gather for worship Sundays at 8:30 am and 10:00 am — both in person and via livestream. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted with genuine hospitality.

At Bethany, all are welcome — no matter your age, background, or where you are on your faith journey. Our FAQ page has short videos and answers to common questions about what to expect in worship.

Liturgy: Ancient Pattern, Creative Spirit

Lutheran worship follows a liturgical rhythm that connects us with centuries of Christian tradition: confession, scripture readings, sermon, prayers, offering, and communion.

But at Bethany, worship is never rote. You’ll also find creative elements — visual arts, storytelling, and a mix of musical styles — that make worship come alive in fresh ways.

Learn more at our Worship FAQ.

Music That Inspires

Music is at the heart of our life together. Bethany offers a wide variety of musical expressions:

  • Chancel Choir (traditional choral music)
  • Sounds of Praise (contemporary vocal ensemble)
  • Handbells (Carillons choir)
  • Children and youth choirs

Whether you prefer classic hymns or contemporary arrangements, music is a way we proclaim God’s grace and lift hearts together.

Children, Youth & Intergenerational Life

Bethany takes seriously the call to nurture faith at every age. Children are part of worship from the start, then many head to Children’s Worship after the children’s message before returning for communion.

Youth lead the 10:00 am service on the second Sunday of each month, followed by a service project.

And on Wednesdays at Bethany, all ages gather for food, learning, and worship together — a cross-generational rhythm that deepens community.

Communion: Everyone is Invited

At Bethany, everyone is welcome at the Lord’s Table. You don’t have to be Lutheran, a member, or perfect — just come as you are.

As Lutherans, we believe Christ is truly present in the bread and wine. Communion is a gift of grace, not a reward for having it all together.

Learn more at our Communion FAQ.

Scripture & Sermon

Each week you’ll hear scripture readings and a sermon that connects faith to everyday life. Preaching at Bethany is practical and hopeful — always rooted in the Good News of God’s love for you and for the world.

Community & Outreach

Worship leads us outward. Bethany is deeply committed to serving our congregation, caring for our neighbors, and working toward justice in Denver and beyond.

From inclusive welcome to community partnerships, we believe God’s love is best shared in action.

Practical Tips for Your First Visit

  • Come a little early to settle in.
  • Children are welcome — ask about Children’s Worship at the welcome table.
  • Participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
  • Stop by for coffee and fellowship afterward — it’s a great way to connect.

This devotional series explores key moments in church history, divided into thematic and historical sections with several parts. It is a long and winding story that began on Pentecost and continues to be written by us and by the Holy Spirit today. SECTION 1 – The Church of the Holy Spirit The church began with breath.  A violent wind filled an upper room and scattered ordinary people into the world with extraordinary news. From that first Pentecost morning, the Spirit has been the church’s constant companion, guiding, correcting, and surprising us through twenty centuries of imperfect faithfulness. The devotions in this section explore pivotal moments when the Spirit moved through imperfect people to shape the church’s story. From Paul’s dramatic conversion to the Council of Jerusalem’s radical inclusion, we see the same God who breathed life into the first disciples still breathing life into us today. We are part of this continuing story; inheritors of a wind that refuses to be contained. Nate Preisinger Bethany Lutheran Church Sent with SubsplashUnsubscribe from all emails

Click to watch video Today is the Third Sunday after PentecostWe encourage you to join in for worship at Bethany this weekend either in person or through our livestream.   For an additional devotional reflection, we invite you to watch this reflection from Pastors Gary and Nate on the Feast Day of Peter and Paul last year.Peter the humble fisherman. Paul the privileged Roman citizen. Two wildly different origin stories, yet both were rescued, transformed, and called by God to lead the early Church. Pastors Nate Preisinger and Gary Sandberg reflect on the shared feast day of Saints Peter and Paul and what their lives teach us about grace, redemption, and purpose. Through shame and denial, pride and persecution, God rescued Peter and Paul, not just for their own sake, but for the sake of the Gospel. And that same story of rescue continues today. In baptism, in forgiveness, in community, we are rescued too. 365 Daily Devotional Bethany Lutheran Church Sent with SubsplashUnsubscribe from all emails
